Our Providers
we are grateful to all of our wonderful providers who volunteer their time out of their busy schedules to contribute to our mission of providing quality healthcare to the communities of mexico.

I'm a pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente and have enjoyed practicing in many cultures. I spent many years practicing in Honolulu Hawaii and the past decade in Oceanside. I enjoy working on my Spanish and taking care of teens and kids who need some help getting by in life.
In my spare time I enjoy paddleboarding, and also volunteer at the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
UCSD Flying Sams and I are working toward creating a "Medical Home" for the residents at Rancho de los Ninos. We intend to track their growth and development, encourage healthy habits, and consolidate the immunization records so that when they graduate then can start their adult life on a positive trajectory.

I’m the associate program director for our Kaiser Permanente Family Medicine Residency Program here in San Diego. I’m also the Director for our Kaiser Permanente Global Health Program, and provide our residents opportunities to volunteer abroad in places such as Kenya, Jamaica, Thailand, Fiji, Peru, and Vietnam. I personally participate in two to three of these trips per year along with our resident physicians.
Nurse Catherine
I am an adult nurse practitioner, I work at a Neighborhood Healthcare, community clinic in Escondido as well as Palomar Hospital.
I have been with Flying Sam since 2012
I believe the health of all people is interdependent, disease does not stop at international borders nor at the walls of a gated community. And I believe health is comprised of mind body and spirit. With that in my mind, I am grateful to be a volunteer with Flying Sams, to be able to meet the health care needs of our friends and neighbors in Baja. Flying Sams UCSD Chapter provides an incredible sustaining structure that enables us to provide a continuity of care to an impoverished community that would not be possible through other volunteer organization.
Sustainability, continuity, presence - these are the building blocks of trust. Trust enables and empowers people to make health care changes for themselves and for their families.
